Located in Northern Scotland, the Moray Arts Centre is a recently-constructed £400,000 building which was funded by a wide range of sources including the Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Moray Council, Highland 2007, Scottish Arts Council and numerous grant and charitable organisations. The centre also received funding from The People’s Millions Big Lottery campaign. The centre offers display space for artists and teaching facilities for adults and youngsters with physical and learning difficulties.
The centre wanted to utilise renewable energy to reduce it’s carbon footprint, and provide an alternative to traditional energy supplies. AAG Swepco installed a massive 8.82kw Photovoltaic System using Sharp panels and Fronius inverters. Excess energy generated by the system is exported back to the National Grid.
AAG Swepco provided assistance with the Low Carbon Buildings grant application, then designed and engineered the electrical aspects of the installation. The PV array was installed by AAG Swepco’s professional installers and commissioned to produce excellent generation results. A custom-designed visual display unit was also installed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the system.
